When Sharpie launched their new Creative Markers, LiveLab and Sharpie collaborated to build an activation on wheels; a big red Sharpie bus that traveled across the country and stopped at various art festivals around the country. The goal was to get as many people to try the new product as possible, and let the quality of the product speak for itself. The team had positioned the activation like a rock tour—designing tour merch and capturing content of people using the markers at each stop.
The Context
The Challenge
As the team progressed through the tour, they were making headlines at each festival stop. People loved the new Creative markers, and they LOVED Sharpie Bus.
The content looked great from each stop, but they were missing the through-line.
How can we better tell the story that Sharpie was literally on tour, as opposed to just doing one-off pop-ups at each of these festivals.
The Insight
90% of the time the Bus was on the road; a big part of the tour’s story was missing.
